A Stuart Barlow hat-trick helped Dave Watson's Tranmere to a 4-2 win at home to Notts County. Jason Koumas grabbed the other goal to grab the win, with Darren Caskey and Marcel Cas getting County's goals.
Reading stay in touch with the leaders as James Harper's goal was enough to give them a 1-0 win over Cambridge at The Madejski Stadium.
Roy Evans's Swindon continued their good run with a 2-0 away win at Port Vale with goals from Danny Invincible and Matt Hewlett enough to seal the win.
Chesterfield just about secured their first home win of the season as a late Rob Edwards goal gave them a 3-2 win over Wrexham. Marcus Ebdon and Luke Becket gave The Spireites a 2-0 advantage but Stephen Roberts and Darren Ferguson score twice late on before Edwards's last-minute striker handed the home side the points.
Blackpool came from 2-0 down at home to QPR to grab a point with a 2-2 draw. The visitors went in front with two goals from Leroy Griffiths but John O'Kane and Graham Fenton scored the goals to earn the Seasiders a point.
Cardiff's Graham Kavanagh and Paul Brayson both scored as the Welsh side won 2-0 over Northampton at Ninian Park, while Wigan recorded a 1-0 over Huddersfield thanks to Simon Haworth.
