Defender will not extend Rennes contract
Erik Edman is on the brink of making a return to the Premier League from Ligue 1 side Rennes.
The Swedish international had a brief spell at Spurs between 2004 and 2005 before moving to France and could now be set for a second spell in England.
The defender has confirmed that he will not be extending his contract past the summer, forcing Rennes to cash in now rather than lose the player for nothing at the end of the season.
Reading, Birmingham and Wigan are reported to have shown an interest in a player who has been free to talk to other clubs since 1st January.
"He has offers from two or three English clubs," confirmed Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi.
