Redknapp in Benjani hope
Harry Redknapp has urged Benjani Mwaruwari to rediscover his scoring touch.
Harry Redknapp has urged big-money signing Benjani Mwaruwari to rediscover his scoring touch to keep Portsmouth in The Premiership.
Benjani has yet to score for Pompey in eight appearances since joining from Auxerre in January in a £4 million-plus transfer.
He has looked ill at ease with the demands of The Premiership, as Pompey desperately try to retain their top-flight status.
Portsmouth boss Redknapp remains convinced that the Zimbabwe international has the talent to be a success in English football.
But Redknapp concedes that time is running for out Benjani to make an impact this season and he is anxious for the striker to break his Pompey duck.
"Benjani is a good player, there's no doubt about that," said Redknapp.
"Everyone who knows French football says he can play.
"But he is lacking in confidence and we have not got time on our side.
"He's got to get through it, got to get out there, play and win people over."
