Senegalese midfielder poised to sign three-year deal with Greek side
Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill has confirmed Papa Bouba Diop is closing in on a transfer to AEK Athens.
It had been reported that Championship club Pompey were holding out for a fee in the region of €1million (£820,000).
But the latest speculation suggests a price nearer €400,000 (£335,000) has been agreed for the 32-year-old midfielder.
AEK president Stavros Adamidis has arrived in England in a bid to tie up the switch and, subject to a medical, Diop is set to ink a three-year deal.
"A move is on the cards for Papa," said Cotterill in
The News.
"He wasn't here and a move is on the cards.
"I believe a deal was being sorted out while I was concentrating on the football here."
