Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has been named Premier League player of the month for January.
The 20-year-old England star was at the centre of a superb month for second-placed Tottenham, scoring five times in the league as they emerged as Chelsea's closest challengers.
Alli opened 2017 in style with two goals in Tottenham's 4-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road and he repeated the feat three days later with both goals in the 2-0 win over Antonio Conte's pace-setters.
He was also on target in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City, kicking off Tottenham's comeback from a 2-0 deficit with a 58th-minute reply at the Etihad Stadium.
Alli went into January without a Premier League goal since October 15 and ended it on a total of 11, sitting seventh in the race to be top scorer, five adrift of Everton's Romelu Lukaku.
"It's a real honour. I think the whole team played brilliantly this month. We really played well as a team and we've clicked really well," Alli said.
"[My favourite goals] I'd probably say the two against Chelsea just because of how big the game was for us and for the fans as well. To score and win was a great feeling."
