Three males, aged 17-23, have been arrested for racist offences at the Carabao Cup semi-final between Tottenham and Chelsea.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed a fourth male was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs.

Before the game at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night, the Met Police tweeted to say it was working with clubs "to ensure hate crime, including racism and anti-Semitic language, is tackled robustly.

"Any instances of such behaviour will be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated."

Tottenham and Chelsea had also warned fans to behave ahead of the first leg at Wembley after recent incidents of discriminatory behaviour.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and Blues counterpart Maurizio Sarri called for the supporters to get behind their own teams, rather than focus their energies on taunting the opposition.
