SPURS DENY ETO'O INTEREST
Eto'o, who was part of the victorious Cameroon Olympic squad at Sydney 2000, has struggled to establish himself at the Champions League holders and is currently on loan at Liga rivals Real Mallorca.
However, the 19-year-old was involved in a bust-up with Mallorca boss Luis Aragones last month, after reacting angrily to being substituted in a game, and it is understood that he is now keen for a move to the Premiership.
With Tottenham known to be keen to bolster their squad at White Hart Lane to help get their Premiership campaign back on track this season, reports in England had suggested that Eto'o would be a transfer target for the London club.
It had been suggested that the club had tabled a £9 million bid for the Cameroon international, but Pleat has dismissed these reports on the official Tottenham website.
Meanwhile, Spurs have been boosted by the news that a trio of injured players came through a reserve team match with Charlton this week. Ben Thatcher, Luke Young and Dave McEwan all put in an appearance in the 1-0 win.
Thatcher, who has been out with a groin strain since November, came through the full 90 minutes of the game and will now be available for the trip to Everton at the weekend.
