AGENT: LEEDS HAVE MADE JENAS BID

NOTTINGHAM FOREST starlet Jermaine Jenas has been approached by Leeds United, according to his agent, but boss David O'Leary will face competition from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Jenas has been a revelation this season and a £4 million price tag has already been placed on his head by the media.

Agent Robert Mateusiewicz confirmed that Leeds had made a firm bid, but also revealed that contact had been made by Newcastle and that Spurs were waiting in the wings.

"I believe there has been contact between Newcastle and Forest," said Mateusiewicz.

"I understand that Leeds are the only club to have made a firm offer and Tottenham are interested in him.

"What may be an issue for Jermaine is being confined to a reserve team. That would be difficult for him.

"He is aware that not many of England's Under-21 players are playing purely reserve team football."
