Hoddle: Ledley needs to learn

TOTTENHAM boss Glenn Hoddle expressed disappointment with defender Ledley King following Spurs` 1-0 home defeat by Charlton on Monday evening, insisting the defender has to learn quickly from his mistakes.

Former England boss Hoddle saw King fail to clear a simple Graham Stuart cross, allowing Chris Powell to poke home the 70th-minute winner.

Hoddle`s charges have now lost four straight games, a run which has effectively ended their European aspirations.

The White Hart Lane chief was in no mood to pull punches after the game, placing blame for the defeat firmly at the door of King.

Hoddle said: "We handed it to them on a plate.

"Ledley knows he made a mistake as he has got to see danger and clear it.

"The quicker he can learn from situations like this the quicker he will come on."
