Atletico check on Dutch ace

Atletico Madrid are the latest club to check on Feyenoord youngster Romeo Castelen.

Atletico Madrid have joined Internazionale and Tottenham in the race to sign Feyenoord youngster Romeo Castelen.

The Spanish outfit sent their sports director, Toni Munoz, to watch Castelen and club team-mate Dirk Kuyt play for Holland in their 3-1 win over Finland on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old Castelen has been watched by both Inter and Spurs in recent weeks and with Atletico now joining the queue, the winger's value has soared.

Despite only joining Feyenoord on a three-year deal in the summer from ADO Den Haag, the Rotterdam outfit would be prepared to listen to offers.

The Surinam-born wide man made his debut for Den Haag in 2001 and went on to play 70 league matches and score 17 goals.

Kuyt is also on Atletico's list, but a bid is not expected until next summer.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest of the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle in the past.
