Tottenham expect Carlo Cudicini to make a full recovery from wrist and pelvic surgery.

Full recovery anticipated for Spurs goalkeeper

Tottenham expect Carlo Cudicini to make a full recovery from wrist and pelvic surgery following his motorbike crash on Thursday. The Italian goalkeeper underwent surgery at the weekend after sustaining serious injuries in a road accident that were initially described by police as 'possibly life-changing'. Cudicini fractured his wrists and injured his pelvis in the accident, with surgery on Friday evening having been deemed a success. Fears about his career have been eased by Spurs first team coach Kevin Bond, who has revealed the former Chelsea shot-stopper is expected to make a full recovery, although the timeframe for his return remains uncertain. "It's going to take some time, he will be on crutches for a period of time and no doubt he'll be in hospital for a good few days yet," Bond told Sky Sports News. "Obviously it's such good news that all being well he will make a full recovery. "At this moment in time no-one is going to put any type of time span on it - we are just glad to know that he's well. "That's the most important thing and hopefully he'll be back putting his boots on and his gloves on in the not so distant future."
