Whites boss says opportunity is there to shine
Simon Grayson is hoping someone other than Jermaine Beckford can be Leeds United's hero against Spurs on Wednesday.
The free-scoring striker has been Leeds' shining light so far throughout their inspired FA Cup run after netting the winner at Manchester United and scoring a brace in their 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane.
All eyes will be on Beckford to recreate his heroics of the previous cup games, however Grayson knows the chance is there for someone to emerge from the shadows against Spurs at Elland Road.
"Jermaine has been fantastic for us this season, and not just in the FA Cup," said Grayson.
"We can put this situation to bed now because he's staying with us for the rest of the season and hopefully he can score a few more goals.
"But someone else needs to be a hero. Jermaine has been that so far, but maybe someone else could be the hero for a change."
Keane relief
One former Leeds player who will not be on show is Robbie Keane, who has left Spurs and will spend the rest of the season on loan with Celtic.
Keane was a popular player during his time with the West Yorkshire club before being sold on as Leeds' crippling financial mess took hold.
"Robbie was a good servant to this club," he continued. "I'm delighted he won't be in a Tottenham shirt.
"The fans appreciate Tottenham are a top six side so there won't be a huge expectancy on us. We're the underdogs, but they'll be cheering us on.
"People have made an issue of our league form, but the fact we are playing in these big games shows we're having a successful season and doing something right."
