Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes has praised the influence of Harry Redknapp as he aims to play in the World Cup.

Heurelho Gomes has praised the positive influence of Harry Redknapp and believes the Tottenham manager has provided him with the perfect opportunity to establish himself as Brazil's first choice goalkeeper.
After a difficult start to his career at White Hart Lane, the former PSV Eindhoven stopper has regained his confidence and is eyeing a place in Dunga's squad for the World Cup as well as FA Cup success with Tottenham.
Gomes struggled under former Spurs boss Juande Ramos, and produced a number of erratic performances that saw him criticised for his lack of concentration.
However, Redknapp persevered with the Brazilian keeper and has been rewarded with five consecutive clean sheets as the season draws to a conclusion.
Gomes told
The Sun: "Harry is a great motivator and came out in my defence at times when everyone was giving me stick last season.
"I now feel people are seeing the real Gomes. I am so grateful to the manager for the faith he showed in me. Harry is doing a great job at Spurs and I hope we can achieve even greater things together.
"I am very happy with the five consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League and feel honoured to make history at Tottenham."
Criticism
Despite the criticism he faced last season, Gomes revealed that he never considered giving up on the club who paid £7.8 million for his services in 2008
He feels at home and said: "The thought of leaving never really crossed my mind, although last season there were some pretty disappointing moments for me.
"For three months I had to play away from my ideal form because of an injury that prevented me from moving properly.
"That affected my performances although I still think the media exaggerated a lot.
"I also reckon that the old prejudice against Brazilian keepers spoke louder than common sense."
Hopeful
Gomes is glad he stuck out the tough times in north London and is now hoping to represent his country in South Africa.
The 28-year-old returned to the Brazil squad last year after a three-year absence, but believes FA Cup success with Spurs will make Dunga take notice.
He added: "I was out of the Brazil squad for three years but I took part in the Confederations Cup and only a recent thigh injury has prevented me from getting more call-ups.
"If I keep doing my job at Tottenham, my chances with Brazil can only grow.
"I hope Dunga is paying attention to what we are achieving here at Spurs."
