Spurs boss wants young Mexican to stake first team claim
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp wants young forward Giovani dos Santos to push on after showing fine pre-season form.
The 21-year-old has previously missed training because of his clubbing habits, according to Redknapp, who criticised the Mexican.
But the youngster enjoyed a successful World Cup and has gone on to play well in pre-season.
Redknapp is pleased with his new attitude and he now wants the player, who is currently with the Mexican squad for a friendly against world champions Spain on Wednesday, to push on and claim a regular first team starting spot.
The Spurs boss told the club's
official website: "He's come back from the World Cup in great form.
Spot on
"The World Cup will have done him the world of good and his attitude has been spot on.
"I've been pleased with him all pre-season.
"He's got outstanding ability, the ability to be a top, top player. He is clever, goes at defenders and has great close control.
"He's a nice lad, a young lad and there is a chance for him now. It's up to him."
