Striker happy to end career at White Hart Lane
Tottenham star Jermain Defoe has revealed he would love to stay at the club for the rest of his career.
Defoe, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury picked up on international duty earlier this month, is happy with life at White Hart Lane and sees no reason to move on.
The England star, who is in his second spell at Tottenham after one season at Portsmouth, believes the future is bright and the 27-year-old would happily end his career at the club.
Right direction
"Everything about the club tells you they are going in the right direction and I want to remain a part of that," Defoe told the
Daily Mirror.
"From front to back we have quality players, internationals, who can make the difference at the top level.
"We also have a manager in Harry Redknapp that has shown himself to be right up there with the best in the business.
"You'd have to be crazy not to want to stay a part of that. So yes, I want to stay for the rest of my career because I believe Tottenham will go on to establish themselves in the top four under Harry."
Comeback
Defoe has been ruled out until December with his ankle problem and the striker is refusing to rush back into action in case he suffers a setback.
"I'm not going to rush things because the club have had enough injuries without me breaking down again by coming back before I'm supposed to," added Defoe.
"But I am looking forward to coming back and helping Tottenham and England towards their targets in the second half of the season."
