Heurelho Gomes hopes Gareth Bale and Luka Modric will stay at Spurs - but if not, others will step up.
There is speculation Bale and Modric will be sold if fifth-placed Spurs fail to secure UEFA Champions League football again next term.
While Gomes believes it is important that the pair stay at White Hart Lane, the club will move on if they go.
The Spurs keeper said: "It's not easy to keep them. I think the club are going to try their best to keep them.
"But it's not a mistake (to sell them if they don't get into the Champions League) because this is football.
"If they go then other players will come.
"But maybe that won't be the same, because Bale and Modric know how the club works.
"So at the moment it is important the club keep them, but if not we need to move on."
