Missing out on CL would not force Dutchman to consider future
Rafael van der Vaart has insisted he is happy at Tottenham and will not seek a move elsewhere if they miss out on UEFA Champions League football.
Spurs have occupied a spot in the top three for much of the season but are now struggling to secure qualification for Europe's No.1 club competition after slipping back to fifth.
There is a danger that the club could lose some of their star players if they cannot look forward to another Champions League campaign, but Van der Vaart has assured supporters that he has no intention of jumping ship.
Having arrived at White Hart Lane from Real Madrid in 2010, the Dutchman says he has fulfilled most of his career goals and is now enjoying life in London.
"Even if we don't manage to get into the Champions League, that is no reason for me to leave," he said in the
Sun on Sunday.
Not my style
"Any young player wants to play for Barcelona, Manchester United or Real Madrid. But that is something I've done, and I am now happy at Spurs."
While Van der Vaart is not about to quit Spurs, he does admit that he thought about walking off during the defeat at Stoke in December.
He said: "During our game at Stoke I really thought I was going to walk off after 25 minutes. They did nothing but batter us, tackle and hit long balls.
"It is totally not my style, although they got a result with it."
