Leonard's Rovers worry

Blackburn target Philippe Leonard fears he will finish the season at Standard Liege.

Blackburn Rovers target Philippe Leonard fears he will have to finish the season at Standard Liege.

The Belgium international is wanted by Rovers boss Mark Hughes, who has been busy in the transfer market this month.

Hughes has reportedly offered the full back a two-and-a-half year contract, while Fulham have also been linked with Leonard.

The 31-year-old is anxious to move to The Premiership and is hoping Standard will not block his switch to Ewood Park.

But Leonard has confirmed the club's initial offer has been rejected by Standard and the defender is worried Blackburn will not improve their bid.

"Mark Hughes is looking for a left back and wants to take me on immediately," said Leonard.

"But Standard judged the offer to be insufficient and if the different parties can not agree, I will finish the season here.

"Fulham have also enquired about me but they have made just an informal approach."
