Blackburn sign youngster on 18-month deal
Blackburn have added to the promising young talent in their ranks with the signing of forward Zac Aley from Southport.
The 18-year-old has made the move for an undisclosed fee and has penned an initial 18-month deal at Ewood Park.
Aley, a product of Southport's youth system, was thrilled to make the switch to the Premier League.
"I'd been playing for Southport and I was aware that scouts had been coming down to watch now and again," Aley told the club's
official website.
"I'd been down to the Blackburn Academy during last year for a trial, so I was surprised and happy that they were taking a look at me again.
"I was then invited down for a two-day trial at Brockhall and after that they asked me to carry it on.
"And now the deal has been done and I'm delighted. I'm happy everything has been sorted out and I'm really happy to be here."
Versatile
While Aley sees himself chiefly as a forward, the versatile teenager is content to play wherever he is required.
"My preferred position is up front, but I can also play on the left or on the right," he added.
"But I'll play anywhere on the pitch just to play my football because I enjoy it that much.
"I'll make sure I'm training hard every day so I can push on and do well for the reserves and then hopefully to try and start training with the first team and we'll see where it goes from there."
