Teenager savours first Blackburn outing
Phil Jones branded his Premier League debut 'unreal' after running out for Blackburn Rovers in their 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday.
The 18-year-old central defender was named man of the match following the Ewood Park clash, which dealt a severe blow to Chelsea's title hopes.
Jones was withdrawn from the squad to face Chelsea in Monday's FA Youth Cup semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge to plug the gaps left by injuries in Rovers' first team.
And the defender is hoping the youth side can complete a Chelsea double.
"That was unreal," Jones told the
Lancashire Telegraph.
"I really enjoyed it. I wish I was playing (in the Youth Cup) though.
"The boys have done brilliantly to get to this stage and they can go one further."
