Magpies sign midfielder on long-term contract

Notts County have completed the signing of Alan Judge from Blackburn on a permanent deal. The midfielder, who has impressed on loan for the Magpies this season, joins the League One club for an undisclosed fee and is set to remain at Meadow Lane until 2013. Republic of Ireland Under 21 international Judge, who initially arrived from Rovers at the end of August on a short-term loan deal, has made 14 appearances for Paul Ince's side this term. He made a brief return to Ewood Park last week when his four-month loan deal ended but quickly rejoined County on an emergency loan deal and played in their surprise FA Cup third-round win at Sunderland. Manager Ince was keen to tie the 22-year-old down on a permanent deal having worked with the midfielder during his time in charge at Rovers in 2008. A statement on the Magpies' official website said: "After extensive talks with Rovers, a deal has been struck to bring Judge in for an undisclosed fee."
