Striker's second spell suffers injury setback

Blackburn Rovers will assess the fitness of Roque Santa Cruz on Monday following the striker's groin injury. The 29-year-old picked up the injury during Blackburn's FA Cup fourth round defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday, with the club now fearing he will miss important league games. The injury comes at a bad time for Steve Kean, who has lifted his Rovers side to eighth in the league and into the fight for a Europa League place. The Blackburn boss looks set to be without his recent signing for the Wednesday night clash with Tottenham, with a risk of him also missing out three days later against Wigan. "Roque tweaked his groin. We got him off the pitch, iced up and hopefully it will settle down," said Kean. "I think he will be doubtful for the Tottenham game but hopefully he should be okay for Wigan."
