Midfielder confident Blackburn can give Chelsea a tough time
Morten Gamst Pedersen has warned Chelsea that Blackburn have no intention of allowing them to turn the corner this weekend.
The Blues are due at Ewood Park on Saturday for a fixture that has taken on added importance for both sides.
Rovers continue to languish towards the foot of the table, piling yet more pressure on under-fire boss Steve Kean, while Chelsea have suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League to slip off the pace in the title race.
Andre Villas-Boas is determined to see his side get back on track in their next outing, but Pedersen believes Blackburn have rediscovered their 'fighting spirit' and are due a slice of luck.
"We have to take the positives and look forward," he said.
"All last week we played three good games against Tottenham, Newcastle and Norwich and probably should have a few more points on the table.
Improving
"If you work hard over a season it will even out. It's about time now. It's different if you play a poor game and don't get anything but when you're playing well and you actually know that something's going on.
"We're improving in training, people are fresh and the fighting spirit is there.
"It's going to be an interesting game on Saturday because we are going to be a tough team to beat at Ewood.
"You know they've had a tough week as they lost to Arsenal at home so they'll want to bounce back.
"We need the points and we want to show everyone at Blackburn Rovers what we are made of.
"We beat Arsenal, we beat Newcastle at home, we had a good game against Tottenham as well so I think Chelsea know it's going to be a tough game."
Commitment
Pedersen has also denied claims that ongoing protests from certain sections of the Blackburn support against Kean's reign have had an adverse effect on home performances.
"Our football has spoken for itself in the last week and the last few weeks," said the Norway international.
"Everyone who has been on the pitch has shown commitment to Blackburn and worked hard.
"Hopefully we can show that again against Chelsea. We want to make it really hard for them and we want to stick together and show everyone we can be a good football team.
"We've done well against the big teams before at Ewood so why can't we do it again?"
