The barrister overseeing an independent investigation into safeguarding at Aston Villa has issued a public appeal for further witnesses.

Jack Mitchell - of Old Square Chambers - is investigating following claims of bullying made within Villa's academy last December.

In an open letter on Tuesday, Mitchell said: "To undertake this task I am seeking relevant information, whether it is positive or negative.

"Whilst my investigation has been covered in the press, if you or someone you know has any evidence or would like to give evidence to me as a witness in relation to this issue, please contact me."
