Strike ace hails O'Neill's squad after Old Trafford success
Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Aston Villa's squad is close to perfection following their 1-0 weekend win at Manchester United.
Agbonlahor scored the only goal of the game as Villa secured their first away victory over the Red Devils since Peter Withe's brace over 26 years ago.
Back-to-back wins sees Villa fourth in the table and Agbonlahor believes the Midlanders are close to having a complete squad.
Villa are on the road again in midweek when they tackle Sunderland and Agbonlahor insists beating United will count for nothing unless they can get a positive result at the Stadium of Light.
Perfection
"I think the gaffer since he's been here has been looking to create his perfect side and I think we're getting to that sort of side at the moment," he told the
Birmingham Mail.
"He's had the goal of trying to get us in the top part of the table and as long as we keep working hard for each other there's no reason why we can't do that.
"We're not going to let this win get our heads too high. We're going to have to go to Sunderland and hopefully get the result we need otherwise this 1-0 win here will have been a waste of time.
"We've got to forget about this win now and concentrate on Tuesday."
Clean sheet
Agbonlahor was thrilled with Villa's weekend result and believes their ability to keep a clean sheet was perhaps the highlight of the performance.
"Any team coming here will have to defend like that against Man United because they're such a quality side and we showed the team spirit we've got at Villa to get the points," he continued.
"It's nice to score at Old Trafford but for it to be the winning goal is more important.
"It's more the team that's won us the game than my goal. There's not many teams that come here and stop Man U scoring.
"I try to keep scoring and as long as I do that and help with a bit of defending for the team then I'll be happy."
