Former Villa man linked with O'Neill reunion at Sunderland

Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar is keen to stay in English football following his release by Aston Villa. Villa decided against offering him a new deal and the 30-year-old has headed back to his homeland to consider his options for next season. But the ex-Rangers right-back, who has been heavily linked with a move to former boss Martin O'Neill's Sunderland, looks certain to return to the Premier League. "I would like to stay in England," he said. "There are always a lot of rumours about other teams and other countries. "I love the football, I love the people and I love the country. My best option is to stay in this country. "If I got a good project at a club then that would be the important thing for me."
