Duncan Watmore scored a hat-trick as Sunderland beat Newcastle 6-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Steven Fletcher scored twice and Jack Rodwell was also on target for a strong Black Cats side in a game arranged to maintain fitness as neither team is involved in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend.
Newcastle's line-up contained a number of academy players while Steven Taylor, Sylvain Marveaux, Jamaal Lascelles, Yoan Gouffran, Rolando Aarons and Emmanuel Riviere also featured.
Sunderland's line-up included Jordan Pickford, Dame N'Doye, Jan Kirchhoff, Fletcher, Rodwell and Watmore for the match, which was held at the Stadium of Light.
The teams meet in the Premier League on March 20, in a game in which Sunderland will bid to extend their derby match winning streak to seven matches.
