Veteran goalkeeper wants to continue Newscatle's good form

Steve Harper wants to use the next two games as a launchpad for the second half of the season. The last time the Magpies were in the Premier League they were relegated with the paltry tally of 34 points. However, should Alan Pardew's men garner two wins in as many outings against Fulham and Arsenal, they would surpass that tally with four months of the campaign to run. Harper, though, is experienced enough to know that in this business you cannot look too far forward and is urging his side to stay focused.

Targets

"Nobody's setting any targets in terms of points, or anything like that," he told the Chronicle. "It's an old cliché, but we're just churning out games, and trying to put points on the board. "As long as we keep that, the better it will be for us. "It's been a good start to 2011 - four games unbeaten - and if we can keep that run going through Fulham away and Arsenal at home, it will put us in good stead. "We just have to keep churning it out. If there's a gap appearing, let's keep it there, and make it bigger."
