Frenchman over leg break horror ahead of new season
Hatem Ben Arfa has completed his comeback from a double leg break and is in line to participate in Newcastle's pre-season campaign.
The Frenchman has not played since suffering the horrendous injury following a challenge from Manchester City's Nigel De Jong in October 2010.
However, the 23-year-old has now been given the all-clear to return by medics at France's football headquarters, Clairefontaine.
Ben Arfa's English-based adviser Simon Stainrod told the
Sunday Sun: "Hatem has been signed off the sick list and has been for a couple of weeks.
"He's doing fine - he's on holiday at the moment but he's absolutely desperate to get back in among things.
"He'll be back at Newcastle for the start of pre-season and while nothing is ever certain with anyone, he'll really benefit from a full pre-season."
Despite being on-loan from Marseille when the injury occurred, Newcastle made the transfer permanent in January, with the 24-year-old signing a four-and-a-half year contract.
