Magpies' winger insists he is happy at the club
Jonas Gutierrez has hit out at the number of top name players who have left Newcastle in the past eight months.
The Argentine ace admits he has been surprised by the exodus of high-profile figures who have left St James' Park, including the likes of Andy Carroll, Joey Barton, Jose Enrique and Kevin Nolan.
But the 28-year-old is looking at the positives and believes Alan Pardew's side, who are looking to make it eight matches unbeaten against Blackburn on Saturday, are a more settled side now.
Reasons
He told
The Sun: "We don't care about the players who've left. They left for different reasons.
"We're happy for them because we know how football works, but we have to think of the players who have stayed. They are more important."
Gutierrez also admitted he is content with life at Newcastle and, although he is out of contract at the end of next season, the winger says he is very happy at the club.
"All I can say is that I'm happy here and just focusing on this season."
Although he also confessed: "I always say you never close the door.
"You can never say never. An opportunity might come along that's good for you and good for the club."
