Newcastle boss reiterates his faith in French midfielder

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has praised midfielder Sylvain Marveaux following his assist in Yohan Cabaye's winner against Wigan Athletic on Saturday. Marveaux came on for Gabriel Obertan on 77 minutes in their Premier League clash against the Latics at St. James' Park, and three minutes later provided the assist for Cabaye to score the only goal of the game. The 1-0 home victory sees Newcastle remain unbeaten in the league on 19 points from nine matches, and Pardew highlighted the Frenchman's contribution. "I've been saying how Sylvain is a good player and he hasn't had the chance," said Pardew. "He got a small opportunity and he showed he's a class act."
