Premier League: Newcastle's Tim Krul praises his side's spirit

Tim Krul praised Newcastle United's spirit and insisted they are on the right track despite extending their winless start to seven games with a 2-2 draw at Swansea.
A Papiss Cisse double salvaged a point for the Magpies at the Liberty Stadium after they fell behind to efforts in either half from Wilfried Bony and Wayne Routledge.
Goalkeeper Krul was disappointed the club failed to get their first league victory of the season but believes it will eventually come.
Reflecting on the draw with Swansea, the Dutchman said: “I have mixed feelings, obviously going 1-0 down and then 2-1 down is not easy. We gave ourselves a big hill to climb but we showed good spirit to come back.
“They have top quality players - Bony up front and Sigurdsson are really top players - and like I say it’s not nice to go behind but at least we took a point, that was the most important thing today.
“I told him (Bony) after the first goal ‘you’re not going to score any more’. He’s a nice guy but I was pleased after making some good saves, and then Papiss scored straight away which was an extra nice feeling.
“But mixed feelings like I say; we’d like to have got a win under our belts but as long as we are not losing that is the most important thing."
The result showed resilience within the Newcastle ranks and could have eased some of the pressure currently hanging over manager Alan Pardew.
Krul hopes Newcastle can now regroup over the international break and return refreshed for their next game against Leicester.
“It’s just one of those things, we are going through a really hard time and we just need a break,” Krul added.
“We’re getting chances; Manu Riviera there at the end had a chance but it’s just not falling for us at the moment.
“We were playing against a really good side in Swansea today so it was never going to be easy but we just have to keep fighting. Leicester City at home next is a game that we should be winning.
“The support was really good today. They stuck with us and we just have to keep fighting and like I said hopefully we will get our first win soon."
