Thierry Henry on what Pep Guardiola will demand at Manchester City

Thierry Henry says incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will demand intelligence as well as ability from his players when he takes over at the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Henry played under Guardiola for two seasons at Barcelona, winning the Treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League during his first campaign in 2008/09.

"I can assure you it's pretty easy to understand what he wants," said Henry, who scored 49 goals in 121 appearances over three years at Barcelona between 2007-10.

"He's very demanding, he has a certain philosophy, sometimes he's two or three steps ahead of what people are thinking.

"But what you need with that is guys who can understand what he wants, and how they can adapt to what he wants as quickly as you want it to be."
