Manchester City chief commercial and operating officer Tom Glick is to step down from his role at the club.
Glick is set to take up a position of team president at Charlotte-based NFL team Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers have recently been bought by David Tepper, who is getting staff in place ahead of beginning a new era with the team.
Glick was appointed COO at City in March 2012, after joining the club from Derby County where he was responsible for the same role.
He has experience in American sports, serving as chief marketing officer for the (then New Jersey) Nets, VP of marketing and business operations for the NBA, senior VP of sales and marketing for the Sacramento Rivercats (minor league baseball), and general manager of the Lansing Lugnuts (also minor league baseball).
Upon beginning his search for a new team president, Tepper noted "experience running a sports team is No. 1" for the prospective candidate.
