Huckerby blasts agent talk

Darren Huckerby has hit out at his own agent after he said that the Manchester City striker would not fancy a permanent move to Norwich City.

Huckerby is currently on a three-month loan stint at Carrow Road, but his agent Phil Smith rubbished Norwich's chances of landing him permanently saying they could not afford him.

The former Coventry City striker has blasted Smith's comments saying that he will decide where he moves to, and that he would have no qualms joining The Canaries on a permanent basis.

"I was upset with the comments that were made by my agent on Tuesday," Huckerby told Norwich's website.

"He's got his opinions about where he wants me to be, but at the end of the day I will decide where I want to go, not my agent.

"I also think it's an insult to say that Norwich City aren't a big enough club to sign me. No player is bigger than the club in my opinion.

"If everything did work out, I would be happy to sign for Norwich - why wouldn't I consider signing for a team that is two points off the top of the table?

"At the end of the day, every player wants to play where they are happiest and where they are appreciated and respected and I think the fans, the manager and the players here respect what I can do.

"For me, it's been a privilege to play in this team when they have been doing so well and playing good football and I'm very pleased that we are undefeated in all the games we've played where I have been involved.

"I am an honest person and there's no hidden agenda. I'm not trying to use one club to get a move to another or anything like that."
