City appeal Dabo red

Manchester City have appealed Ousmane Dabo's dismissal against Reading.

The 29-year-old was shown a straight red by referee Howard Webb after catching The Royals' Steve Sidwell with his arm.

Dabo became City's second player to be sent off already this season, but manager Stuart Pearce is hoping to have the decision overturned.

The former Lazio man appeared to make minimal contact with Sidwell and City have decided to make a claim to the Football Association for wrongful dismissal.

Dabo will have his case heard on Thursday by The FA's Independent Disciplinary Commission.
