Beasley targets City deal

DaMarcus Beasley is eager to secure a permanent deal at Manchester City.

DaMarcus Beasley is eager to secure a permanent deal at Manchester City.

Stuart Pearce snapped up the USA international on a season-long loan from PSV Eindhoven on transfer deadline day.

A hamstring injury has so far prevented Beasley from making his City debut, although he is likely to play some part in Saturday's game against West Ham.

The 24-year-old is hoping to make an impression, as he has set his sights on a long-term deal at Eastlands.

"I am here for this season to start with but I would like to stay far longer," he said.

"I have only been at City for a couple of weeks but so far, everything has been great.

"It seems a really family orientated club. Everyone gets along and ideally, I would like to be here for at least three or four years."

Beasley also explained that he opted for a move to The Premiership because he had developed an uneasy relationship with PSV coach Ronald Koeman.

"I didn't see eye-to-eye with Koeman on certain things and I wasn't guaranteed a place in his starting line-up either, so I decided it was time to look for another club," he commented.

"City first expressed an interest in me at the end of July. It was on and off from then on until they finally came for me at the last minute with an offer I was happy to accept."
