Defender's agent to start looking for new club
Sun Jihai is expecting to leave Manchester City after admitting he has not heard about a new contract.
The Chinese defender's deal expires at the end of next month and, as yet, he has not been offered an extension.
The 30-year-old is currently on City's end-of-season tour of the Far East and was captain in Thursday's friendly defeat to a South China Invitational XI.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Jihai suggested his future lay away from the City of Manchester Stadium.
"If I haven't heard official word at this stage, it means my agent has to look for my next club," he said.
"You know, that's football."
He has received offers from Premier League and Championship clubs, and has also been offered a return to China, but had been hoping to stay at City.
Jihai joined City in 2002 and has gone on to make over 150 appearances for the club, with his final competitive outing coming in the 8-1 defeat at Middlesbrough on the final day of the season.
