Right-back's loan spell at Derby ends after one appearance
Manchester City have recalled full-back Javan Vidal from his loan spell at Championship side Derby County.
Vidal joined the Rams before the close of the January transfer window and was due to stay at Pride Park until the end of the season.
However, after making just one substitute appearance for Nigel Clough's side, the 20-year-old has gone back to City.
Clough admits that the form of fellow on-loan full-back Nicky Hunt has contributed to Vidal's lack of first-team opportunities at Derby.
Grateful
"Javan picked up a knock playing for the reserves and has been ill, so I don't think we have really seen enough of him to make a judgement," Clough told the
Derby Evening Telegraph.
"Javan's position is right-back, but with Nicky Hunt doing so well there, it is difficult for anybody to break into that position.
"We are grateful to Manchester City for allowing Javan to come to us on loan."
Vidal has yet to make a senior appearance for City, but spent spells on loan at Grimsby Town and Aberdeen last season.
