Chesterfield boss may try to re-sign City youngster

John Sheridan is considering an approach to bring Manchester City youngster Donal McDermott back to Chesterfield next season. The winger enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Chesterfield last term and he scored five goals in 15 appearances in League Two. He subsequently finished the campaign on loan in the Championship with Scunthorpe United and is yet to make the first-team breakthrough at City. Spireites boss Sheridan is a big fan of the 20-year-old and is keeping an open mind about being able to re-sign McDermott. "Everybody knows how much I rate Donal as a player and a person," said Sheridan. "I haven't yet made an enquiry for him, but he is the sort of player I would be interested in."
