Slovak youngster agrees three-year deal
Dundee United have bolstered their goalkeeping options ahead of the new season by signing Manchester City youngster Filip Mentel.
The 20-year-old Slovakian shot-stopper has agreed a three-year contract with the Tannadice outfit.
Tangerines boss Peter Houston is backing Mentel's credentials, stating his time with City can only have aided his development.
Houston feels Mentel has not had much of a chance at City and is looking forward to seeing him in action for United.
"Filip is a highly promising young keeper," Houston told the club's official website.
"That he's been at Manchester City for the last few seasons confirms his credentials.
"Obviously he's found it difficult to break through there given their presence in the transfer market these days."
