French side keen on striker loan deal

Skysports.com understands Monaco have joined the chase for unsettled Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor. Adebayor's future at City has been the subject of intense speculation this month with the player currently out of favour at Eastlands. The former Arsenal man is thought to be keen on a move away from City this month after growing frustrated with his lack of first-team action under Roberto Mancini. Fulham and West Ham have been linked with loan moves for Adebayor, but both clubs would struggle to pay the striker's wages. Real Madrid were thought to be interested in signing Adebayor, but they have turned their attentions to Ruud van Nistelrooy instead. Monaco are now ready to try and lure the 26-year-old back to the Principality after he enjoyed three years with the club between 2003-06. The French side are keen to sign the Togo international on loan with a view to a permanent move as they see Adebayor as the man who can fire them to safety in Ligue 1.
