Romanian keeper drafted in to provide cover for Hart
Manchester City have made Romanian goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon their fourth signing of the summer.
The 24-year-old arrives in England from Poli Timisoara and will provide cover for first-choice shot-stopper Joe Hart.
City had been looking to strengthen in the keeping department after offloading Shay Given to Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
They are fully aware of what Pantilimon is capable of, having faced him on two occasions in last season's Europa League play-offs.
Roberto Mancini believes he will be a useful addition to his squad, with the promising keeper having already earned senior international recognition.
Arrivals
He was reported to be drawing admiring glances from Arsenal and Inter Milan earlier in the summer, but it is City who have secured his signature.
Mancini is happy to have drafted another fresh face into his ranks, but has hinted that there may be further arrivals to come as City prepare for a campaign which will see them competing for major honours on multiple fronts.
He said: "We are missing other players, we don't have enough players for all the season. This is a problem at the moment.
"I think we need another two or three players."
