Prem giants ready to part ways with out-of-favour winger

Sky Sports News sources understand Manchester City will sell Shaun Wright-Phillips this summer and have given Bolton, Sunderland and Wigan permission to talk to the out-of-favour winger. Wright-Phillips has struggled to pin down regular action in Roberto Mancini's star-studded first team since the Italian succeeded Mark Hughes in 2009. The winger, in his second stint at City with a year left to run on his contract, has made just five Premier League starts since Mancini took over. The 29-year-old has insisted he is happy to fight for his place at the Etihad Stadium, but it appears City are ready to part ways with the winger.

Interest

Bolton, Sunderland and Wigan are all thought to be pursuing the England international and have been granted permission to contact him. Wigan are on the hunt for a new winger after Charles N'Zogbia departed for Aston Villa last month. The Black Cats have already made nine additions to their squad this summer, but manager Steve Bruce is still seeking reinforcements. Bolton are also believed to be chasing Wright-Phillips' signature as they look to bolster their attacking force before the window closes. Wright-Phillips, who turns 30 in October, returned to boyhood club City in 2008 following a three-year spell at Chelsea.
