Skysports.com understands Manchester City's Ryan McGivern has signed a contract extension with the club until 2013.
The 21-year-old is a product of the club's academy and was a part of their FA Youth Cup winning side in 2008.
McGivern, a Northern Ireland international, is currently on a 28-day loan with Crystal Palace which was agreed earlier this month.
It is thought that agreement will either be extended, or the defender will be loaned out again to continue his footballing education.
McGivern has previously enjoyed loan spells at Morecombe, Leicester and Walsall.
The no-nonsense defender has only made one appearance for City which came against Sunderland earlier this year.
