Former Rangers striker to join Gordon Strachan at The Riverside
Striker Kris Boyd admits that he is relishing a new challenge after revealing that he has agreed to join Middlesbrough on a reported two-year deal.
The Scotland international will join former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan at The Riverside following a summer of intense speculation since the 26-year-old confirmed plans to quit SPL champions Rangers at the end of last season.
The former Kilmarnock forward had recently been linked with several clubs in England, as well as lucrative offers from abroad.
He told
the Sunday Mail: "I'm delighted to finally have my future sorted out.
"I've had a few offers to consider and it's been a case of talking to my family about the positives and negatives of each one.
"Middlesbrough have always been very appealing. Strachan has big plans and has made me feel wanted.
"I first met him in January and he impressed me at that meeting.
"Everything has just about been agreed and I will go through my medical today (Sunday) or tomorrow (Monday). I don't envisage any problems and I'm looking forward to starting my Boro career."
