Strachan checks on duo during pre-season training
Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has been checking on two left-backs during the club's pre-season training camp in Germany.
Boro tackled Sachsen Leipzig on Wednesday, recording a 2-0 win, and during the match Strachan used two new full-backs.
The two players looking to impress were experienced Italian Mirko Pieri and Senegal international Jackson Mendy.
Pieri is currently with Livorno but has been told he can leave and was linked with a move to Serie A newcomers Cesena earlier this summer.
The 32-year-old is now seemingly hoping to win a move to England and played the opening half in Leipzig.
Mendy is also on the lookout for a new club after Bundesliga side Freiburg informed him he could depart.
The 23-year-old has already trained with French club Grenoble this summer but is now trying his luck with Boro.
