Dimi Konstantopoulos insists Middlesbrough are ready to pick up where they left off before the international break when visiting Brighton in the Championship on Saturday.

Boro climbed up to fifth in the table thanks to a six-match unbeaten run in the league, which included wins over Huddersfield, Cardiff, Brentford and Fulham.

Greek goalkeeper Konstantopoulos conceded just twice in that sequence and has set his sights on securing more valuable points at the Amex Stadium this weekend.

Middlesbrough climbed back up into the Sky Bet Championship play-off places with a 2-0 victory over Fulham

"We're high in confidence at the minute but the games we've won are gone now and we have to keep up the same standards," the 35-year-old told the club website.

"We can't let our performances drop because at this level if you don't give your best you get punished - we know that.

"Brighton have some good players so it's going to be a tough away game, but we've prepared like the others so I think we'll be alright."

Konstantopoulos added: "Holding regular clean sheets is always a good thing for a keeper but I think it's a collective effort - especially in our team. I think there's a good understanding between our defenders and the squad as a whole.

"Defensively we're really solid and I think the lads know each other better, when to cover each other and put 100 per cent effort into every game. There's a mutual trust between them and myself."
