Wigan youngster Ryan Jennings has signed for Gary Johnson's Cheltenham on a one-month youth loan.
The 20-year-old made his senior bow for Latics in August and was on the bench on Tuesday for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over Blackpool.
However, given the depth of Gary Caldwell's squad, first-team opportunities are likely to be limited and the Wigan boss is hoping Jennings can benefit from a stint with the Vanarama National League leaders.
"This is a great opportunity for Jenno to go and play some first-team football at a good level," Caldwell said on his club's official website.
"Cheltenham are a team full of confidence at the moment with their recent form and Gary Johnson is an experienced manager who has a proven record with younger players, so we're grateful for the chance for Ryan to continue his development there."
