Folan seals £1million move

Hull City have broken their transfer record to sign Wigan's Caleb Folan. The 24-year-old striker only moved to the JJB Stadium in January when the Latics paid £500,000 to Chesterfield for him. However, after just 16 games and two goals, he has departed for Humberside and penned a three-year deal at the KC Stadium. Hull have agreed a £1million deal for the Leeds-born marksman, which shatters their previous biggest pay-out, when they signed Darryl Duffy from Falkirk for £250,000 last year. Coincidentally, Folan's last appearance for Wigan came in their midweek Carling Cup defeat, to Hull.

Delight

"We're delighted to have signed Caleb Folan and believe that he's a quality player who will bring various attributes that we haven't already got in the squad," said Hull boss Phil Brown. "I'm sure the fans are also very excited at the prospect of seeing him play at the KC Stadium."
